FLOWER - hardly a dream LP (Profane Existence)
Best crust punk album of the decade. Period. Heavily influenced by Nausea, but with a personal approach, this may sound like the second album they never gave us, and it's on Profane Existence! Long teased in 2022, the wait is over: Flower is finally here and I love every bit of it. My favorite album of the year.
January 6th
ENTER THE GRAVE - s/t 12" (Hasiok / Distro-Y / Sadness Of Noise)
Definitely one of the best apocalyptic crust / stenchcore album of the year.
January 14th
UNCANNY VALLEY - fevering stare CS
Beautiful goth post punk. Great songs and a amazing vocal delivery.
February 24th
BRAIN TOURNIQUET - ...an expression in pain LP (Iron Lung)
Skin ripper power violence. Fast and aggressive with an amazing array of razor sharp bursts. Top class.
February 24th
WOUND MAN - human outline LP (Iron Lung)
Fierce, fast, unrelenting, pissed off hardcore power violence. That's a real destroyer.
February 28th
DRILL SERGEANT - grim new war 7" (Resist)
Follow up to their great debut LP. Another punishing aural assault... With gusto!
March 3rd
HOME FRONT - games of power LP (La Vida Es Un Mus)
While this album seems so deeply routed in Eighties sound, it sounds modern at the same time. Sure every song is a banger. Instant good old modern classic.
March 3rd
SUPPRESSION with BASTARD NOISE - infernal legions LP (Anthems Of Undesirable)
Wow. Repeat: wow! Two power violence grandfather unite forces to unleash one of the best album of all times. Take the sheer anger of Suppression and blend it with the groovy Man Is The Bastard destruction via the masterful noise science of Bastard Noise. Don't miss this one.
March 3rd
ZULU - a new tomorrow LP (Flatspot)
Not only Zulu is a dark bleak power violent brute force, their politics stands above the whole record and they make sure you get them using the majestic power of spoken word. After two excellent EPs, this album expands their musical horizon to new exciting territories. Massive and awesome.
March 10th
CONVULSIONS - grindcore not war LP (Hecatombe / RSR)
Old school grindcore done it right. Done it well.
April 7th
HIATUS - end is near LP (Riun Nation)
In my opinion, Hiatus latest album (1996 "the brain") is one of the most ferocious (yet innovative) crust punk albums of all times. They disbanded soon after that release, but now they are back with a pretty solid and strong elease. Different (like all their albums were) but still Hiatus at every bit. My favorite crust punk band is back!
April 21st
TULIPS - tangled in transition 10" (Contraszt!)
Wonderful darkwave postpunk with beautiful desperate vocals.
May 4th
INDIANA BRADLEY - pale city EP
This fine gentleman just delivered a gorgeous EP with 4 incredibly catchy and tuneful new wave punk anthems.
June 16th
SWORDWIELDER - wielding metal massacre LP (Wielding Metal Massacre / Profane Existence)
The masters of gloomy apocalyptic crusty stenchcore are back with their third installment... And it's another masterpiece. Take no prisoners.
June 16th
WORLD PEACE - it is written LP (Twelve Gauge)
It is written that World Peace is one of the best power violence band out there: double bass and drums groovy destruction.
July 14th
ENZYME - golden dystopian age 12 (Hardcore Victim / La Vida Es Un Mus)
Belligerent and delirant d-beat chaos... Pummeling and dissonant. Enzyme is a real destructive force.
August 13rd
DOG BREATH - we just wanna be alright LP
Incredibly angry pissed off caveman political black power violent hardcore. This is premium stuff.
September 22th:
PARASITE - s/t LP
I bought this record without even finishing the first song! Melodic yet urgent d-beat crust punk with an hardcore spin. Ed Dead Stop! Well done!
September 29th
FEARING - destroyer LP (Profound Lore)
Another LP of irresistible darkness. I can't help loving their dark depressive sound. One of my favorite bands.
October 15th
EGO - grab LP (Agipunk)
After an amazing demo, Berlin's finest gruesome dark punx are back. Gloomy.
